Dutch Built Homes was started right here in Carolina Beach, NC. The owner, Keith Bloemendaal, moved here in 2004 after visiting from Florida and falling in love with the small, tight knit, beach community. The name, Dutch Built Homes, is in honor of his heritage and his Great, Great Grandfather who traveled to America in 1867 from the Netherlands to farm in the midwest.
Local knowledge of the area, the building requirements, and the uniqueness of Carolina Beach is a benefit of a Dutch Built Homes product. Not only does Keith live in Carolina Beach, he is an active member of the community and is vested in it’s success. Presently, Keith is a Vice Chair of the Planning and Zoning Board for Carolina Beach and has previously served as Vice Chair of the Marketing and Advertising Committee for tourism, as well as Vice Chair of the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce.
