Our new homes in Carolina Beach are 30-35% more energy efficient than code minimum built homes. Code minimum building means the home is built at a minimum code standard, whereas ours go over and above what code requires, especially in the energy efficient portions. This creates a home that saves on average $1200 per year in energy bills, as well as a home that is more comfortable.
This plan has options to add an in law suite under the home and still retain a 2 car garage as well.
This home was designed specifically trying to keep everything on one level. In Carolina Beach, lots are a little small, usually 5000 sq/ft, or 50×100 feet. With a 40% lot coverage allowance by the town planning department, it leaves a small area for the home, which makes it difficult to build homes with a garage without raising them and putting the garage under. This home only has 1 flight of stairs, which isn’t as common in beach towns.
