Dutch Built Homes builds new homes in Carolina Beach and surrounding areas. This Masonboro Plan was built on Searay Lane in 2015 (sold Jan 2016 after being completed late 2015).

Below is the video tour for this model:

The home came out wonderful, and a buyer took it off our hands right after the first of the year.

As with all of our new homes in Carolina Beach, this home was decked out with features including:

  • St. Augustine sod for entire yard, irrigation, palm tree.
  • Low Maintenance Vinyl Siding
  • Impact windows (hurricane proof)
  • 3 Car Garage
  • Outdoor Enclosed Shower
  • Laminate Wood Floors Throughout
  • Custom Tile Bathrooms
  • Upgraded Cabinets
  • Granite Countertops
  • Custom Tile Kitchen Backsplash
  • Vented Hood
  • Stainless Appliances including built in microwave and slide in range
  • 16 SEER upgraded HVAC system
  • Radiant Barrier Roof System
  • ZIP System Sheathing
  • Metal Roof
  • 2″ Blinds Throughout
  • Upgraded Insulation

Our new homes in Carolina Beach are 30-35% more energy efficient than code minimum built homes. Code minimum building means the home is built at a minimum code standard, whereas ours go over and above what code requires, especially in the energy efficient portions. This creates a home that saves on average $1200 per year in energy bills, as well as a home that is more comfortable.

This plan has options to add an in law suite under the home and still retain a 2 car garage as well.

Design

This home was designed specifically trying to keep everything on one level. In Carolina Beach, lots are a little small, usually 5000 sq/ft, or 50×100 feet. With a 40% lot coverage allowance by the town planning department, it leaves a small area for the home, which makes it difficult to build homes with a garage without raising them and putting the garage under. This home only has 1 flight of stairs, which isn’t as common in beach towns.
